Clear Android Applications Cache to Improve Performance
Has your Android phone visibly slowed down? Is there a lag? If yes, free up some phone memory and you’ll notice a drastic improvement in speed and performance. In this tip, I’ll show you how to improve the performance of an Android phone by clearing the cache memory. I’ve used the most commonly found version of Android, 2.2, to illustrate the steps.
Step 1: Access Settings.
There are two ways of accessing Settings. The simplest is to press the menu key on the phone. Typically, it is the left corner key on Android phones. After you press this key, some options appear. Tap Settings.
Alternatively, access the Applications menu and then tap Settings.
Step 2: Tap Applications.
Step 3: Tap Manage applications to see a list of applications installed on your Android phone.
Step 4: Press the menu key on the phone. Typically, it is the left corner key on Android phones. After you press this key, the Sort by size option appears. Tap Sort by size.
Step 5: Now, all applications are sorted by size. This means the largest applications appear first. Let’s see how much cache the Market application is using. Tap Market.
Step 7: Notice, the Market application is using over 3 MB of cache, which is quite a bit. Tap Clear Cache to free up this memory.
.
That’s it. Similarly, you can go through all the applications and clear the cache. This improves the performance of your Android phone
